Sclerology is the study of the markings in the white part of the eye. It has the potential to identify problems such as infections, parasites, physical injuries, drug and chemical toxcity, circulatory problems and even emotional issues Unlike the iris, just about all the markings in the whites of a person's eyes are acquired over the course of their lifetime. So, while the iris is mostly genetic, the sclera is a great indicator of what is actually happening right now.

Leonard Mehlmauer's book, Sclerology: A New View on An Ancient Art, is the most useful guide to sclerology available today. It provides an overview and history of the subject, a detailed sclerology chart and a detailed guide to the various markings which appear in the sclera. High quality colored photos illustrate the various signs and markings of the sclera.

This Sclerology manual also includes intake forms which can be used in examining the sclera. I highly recommend this book for anyone who uses iridology, as it will expand the amount of information you can gain from a study of the eye.
