Vitamins are organic compounds required by living organisms as vital nutrients. They perform many functions in the body. Some have hormone-like functions as regulators of mineral metabolism (vitamin D). Others as regulators of cell and tissue growth and differentiation (vitamin A). Many function as antioxidants (vitamins A, C, D and E). The largest number of vitamins (B-Complex) help enzymes work as catalysts in metabolism. Vitamins may also function as co-enzymes. Deficiencies in various vitamins may be at the root of common health problems. Take this quiz to see what vitamins you may need.
